So far we have had suggestions for a children’s film, a trip to the Spanish Cinema season at the Cornerhouse, and for some Captain America action (which was partly filmed in Manchester).

What do you want to see this year? Put that down in the comments box why don’t you?

  1. Fat Roland says:

    I’d like to watch an empty swimming pool full of dogs weeping into tissues.

    Speilberg has a new one (one of his ‘serious’ films). And I think Loach does. And I don’t know much about it, but Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark was described by Empire magazine as what a “Mike Leigh film would be like if Guillermo del Toro wrote the screenplay”. Surely, that *has* to be worth seeing?

  2. Screen150 says:

    The director of Let The Right One In is doing a version of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Colin Fffffffirth and Benedict Cumberbatch. It could well be awesome, but its not until September

    Also, Terence Malik’s return with the Tree of Life and Scorcese doing Hugo Cabaret. But all this is waaaaay into the future

  3. I’m not sure that these films would stimulate much after cinema conversation, but they are showing around 10th March;

    And one of them is mentioned above as an alternative to watching a pool full of emotional hounds.
